Meditation/Relaxation:
Having a daily meditative practice which slows mind and body is one of the key healthy habits I recommend for stress management, living a balanced life and to have optimal mind and body fitness. Just as you shower to wash the dirt of the day off your body, you should meditate daily to clean and clear the mind. While my personal practice incorporates Transcendental Meditation 2x per day, my favorite tried and tested, do it anywhere/anytime relaxation technique, is deep breathing.
The simplest, most effective way to practice the breathing is with the Two Bells meditation. You can download it onto your phone and play anytime, anywhere.

BENEFITS OF DEEPER BREATHING:
-Deep Breaths = Less stress on body and mind and enhance Digestion.
-Breathing exercises have a positive impact on your respiratory system, which can reduce mental and physical fatigue, as well as relieve symptoms of asthma and bronchitis
-Reduces anxiety
-Helps with ADD, ADHD
-Can cure mild depression
Optimal = 20 minutes 2x a day Upon rising and late Afternoon or evening
Minimum = 5 minutes a day
TIPS:
Neuroscience shows you’re more likely to continue a desired habit if you practice in the AM, five mornings in a row and try to string as many days in a row for 60 days. This is the standard recommendation for most new habits you’d like to acquire.
-Upon rising or as early as possible on way to/from work
-Anytime you’re feeling anxious or stressed
-Start with five minutes and work your way up to 20
-If you can’t get to sleep or if you wake up and cannot go back to sleep. Really works!
