TEXTILE RECYCLING
Retold is a convenient mail-based bag service for recycling old and unwanted textiles from home.
Retold Recycling stands out as the only dedicated textile recycling company.
Unlike many recycling initiatives that grew out of clothing resale or retail brands, Retold Recycling was created with a singular purpose: to tackle the growing issue of textile waste. Founded in 2020, Retold began with recycling as its sole mission, focusing entirely on providing a sustainable solution for textiles that might otherwise end up in landfills.
Step One: Fill your bags!
Click here to order your bags for 15% off
Once your bags are ordered, start sorting!
When your bags arrive, it's time to start packing. Items like solo socks, worn-out bras, t-shirts, jeans, and dresses are all accepted in our Classic Retold Bags.
Stuff up to 5 lbs of material, peel the adhesive strip, and stick!
Step 2: Send it off!
Fill your bag—whether just one sock or packed to the brim—and drop it in your mailbox or mail room, or hand it to your doorman. Each bag comes with a pre-paid label, so you won’t have to wait in line at the Post Office.
Step 3: Their turn...
Once we receive your bags, our partners carefully sort the textiles to ensure they’re directed to the most appropriate destinations. High-quality items are sent to be reused, while other things like scraps are passed on to recyclers to be processed into raw materials. This sorting process ensures that your textiles are diverted from landfills and contributes to a more sustainable cycle of reuse and recycling, helping us minimize waste and promote a circular economy!
