Optimal Vitality
What's  'optimal vitality' and why should you care about it? 
Let's start with the definition of vitality.

Vitality is one of the five intrinsic capacity (IC) domains defined by the World Health Organization (WHO)
and that strongly contribute to a healthy aging (1, 2).  
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, vitality is defined as “the state of being strong and active; energy” (3).
In WHO studies, the concept of vitality was often connected to that of psychological energy, aliveness,
meaning in life and self-esteem (4–6).  

My Definition of Optimal Vitality 
The energy and resilience 

- the life force 
to live joyfully
in our body

and to face the challenges of this world
with grace
and more ease.
And to be present for the ones we love.
And to to enjoy life
to its fullest 

- mentally, physically, and emotionally

My 7 Vitality Pillars 
I believe we need to live consciously to achieve and sustain optimal life force. 
Conscious, sustainable, healthy living is an attitude,
a lifestyle,

 ​a way of being.
It is about living mindfully 

with care and concern for how we impact the world around us. 
A commitment to doing well by and living in harmony with ourselves, our loved ones, and the environment. 

Optimal, where it concerns health, means
having an above-average EQ - emotional intelligence.
Honing our ability to accept those things we cannot change,
cultivating the courage and the skillset to change the things we can,
and developing the wisdom to know the difference.  
Having a mind more like water - sharp, yet yielding. 


Optimal life force is a Lived Experience, Not a Thing You Can Get.
  To be strong and resilient and to achieve optimal vitality - mind, body, and spirit, 
requires us to do the best we can to consistently practice
the 7 Vitality Pillars.
Live Mindfully
Hydrate
Nourish 
Breathe / Meditate 
Sleep Well
Move 
Cultivate Compassion / Forgive 


The habits that allow us to be, feel, and act in a way that serves who and how we want to be. 
Our best will change from day to day
and from one part of the day to the next. 

​Every day we make unconscious and conscious decisions
that either contribute to or take away from the health, happiness, and overall quality of our lives
and the lives of others: family, friends, colleagues,
and the environment/the planet as a whole.  
​

Living consciously better enables us to make choices that improve our wellbeing, peace, and happiness.
Which allows us to age with power
and to best serve others.

Or  at the very minimum, do the least amount of harm to ourselves and others.
