MB NUTRITION FAQ'S
Please note, Magen believes her Food Plan is only one of several important pieces that contribute to Optimal Mind Body Health. However, it is the part of the program about which we get the most questions.
What will I eat on the MB Food Plan?
The MB Food Plan comprises whole foods, mostly plants and plant-based healthy fats such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, some seeds, olives, olive oil, and coconut oil. It includes but is not limited to clean, humanely-raised proteins (wild Alaskan Salmon, sardines, humanely, pasture-raised, eggs, chicken, turkey, and red meat), green tea, and even coffee.
Magen knows from her years of experience that no one diet fits all. That said, she's also learned from her personal and professional experience that everyone can benefit from hydrating well and eating a plant-based, basic anti-inflammatory, nutrient-dense diet. This is the foundation of the Optimal Mind Body Food Plan.
How does the food plan work?
Magen provides you with a basic Food Plan, which lists YES's (foods to eat) and NO's (foods to eliminate for the first 30 days).
You also receive detailed recipes (with shopping lists) that include delicious, family-friendly, casseroles, soups, stews, and alternatives to your comfort and other 'fun' food faves.
You are encouraged to track all your food and any unusual side effects after eating, such as bloating, fatigue, etc.
Together, you and Magen identify which foods are best for you. Over the course of your program, you will integrate different aspects of the OMB Food Plan from week to week. These include but are not limited to Intermittent Fasting and "Feast Days" to increase your carbohydrates up to 150 grams per day.
What benefits can I expect from the Optimal Mind Body Food Plan?
Within the first week of eating on the program, you can expect reduced cravings, bloating, loss of excess water weight. Most participants experience increased energy and enhanced mood, improved sleep, reduced joint aches and pain, and improved skin appearance.
From week's two onward, you can expect stabilized blood sugar and a reduction in your body's fat. And with the combination of Magen's mindfulness exercises, reviews of your daily logs, feedback, and other support, you can improve your relationship with food.
Longer terms, when combined with Magen's other program protocols, the OMB Food Plan can help you reduce or eliminate your dependence on sleep, blood pressure, pain, anti-anxiety, and other medications*. It can help reduce heavy metals and parasites, reverse diabetes, stabilize, and in some cases, eliminate your symptoms of Autoimmune, Lyme, and other chronic diseases. It can stabilize hormonal imbalances, resolve gut health issues, reduce the size of uterine fibroids, your risk of cancer, brain-related, and other diseases.
, The Optimal Mind Body Food Plan will help you optimize your mitochondria's health and create the metabolic flexibility you need to age well, create your own stem cells, and enjoy your favorite fun foods, wine, or cocktails in moderation.
The Optimal Mind Body protocols have also been proven to enhance the effectiveness and reduce the side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
*Magen requires that you are under medical doctor's guidance when reducing or weaning your prescription or other medications.
How is the OMB Food Plan different from and/or similar to diets such as the Keto, Whole 30, Paleo, and the Clean programs?
Magen developed her Optimal Mind Body food program years before the Clean and Whole 30 diet programs emerged long before the Paleo and Ketogenic diets were popular.
However, there are many similarities between the OMB Program food protocols and these popular diets.
One of the most significant similarities between the Clean, Paleo, Whole 30, and many other successful diets and the OMB Protocols is they all include some element of the "Standard Elimination Diet" where the 7 most common allergens are removed for at least 30 days to help reduce inflammation and determine which if any of these foods are causing you GI distress, fatigue, and/or to which you may be sensitive or allergic.
Where the Optimal Mind Body Food Protocol and Ketogenic Diet are similar are in their focus on low net carbs and converting the body to burning fat (as opposed to glucose) as fuel. The biggest difference from the Keto Diet and the OMB Food Plan is that the fats in the OMB Food Plan are mostly plant-based, such as coconut oil, olive oil, nuts, and seeds.
We focus first on the "Hydrate Well" habit because most people do not hydrate well even if they are drinking their minimum daily ounces. Most people suffer from fatigue, cravings, muscle aches, and even moodiness due to a combination of too little water and a lack the proper minerals (such as magnesium and potassium) to function optimally.
The Optimal Mind Body Program food plan differ the most from many popular diets because it has many phases, and it is designed for sustainability. Magen never says, "Never." Everyone is encouraged to reintroduce their fave foods after reducing their inflammation and losing their desired excess body fat.
The Optimal Mind Body Program provides you with detailed recommended food plans, recipes, and shopping lists for your convenience. As well as a long list of prepared, grab n' go options if you prefer not to cook.
Is the Optimal Mind Body Program a "juice cleanse"? Will I have to give up my coffee and wine?
The Optimal Mind Body Program IS NOT A CLEANSE! It's a "healthier lifestyle so you can look and feel your best" program! The recommended eating protocol IS "cleansing" because it's a standard anti-inflammatory/alkaline, an elimination diet. It's the most effective way to identify which foods you're sensitive to and/or do not optimize your vitality. The best part is designed so you can follow it almost anywhere - even if you travel for business and eat out multiple times per week.
While you can still drink alcohol and achieve success in the OMB program, it is recommended you eliminate alcohol for the first 30 days of your program so that you can optimize your results and give your liver a rest. With regards to coffee, yes, you can still have up to 8 ounces of coffee in the mornings during your program. Magen will even share with you how you can make your fave cocktail and coffee healthier.
Will I be hungry on the Optimal Mind Body Food Plan?
No. After the first three days on our protocols, our clients report feeling surprisingly satisfied and not craving their typical, unhealthy foods.
Can I eat out, socialize, and/or travel while on the Optimal Mind Body Food Plan?
Yes, definitely. However, Magen encourages participants to limit your commitments in the first four weeks of the program for the best results. The program's point is to make your healthy habits sustainable. Hence, as the program progresses, you will be troubleshooting the various challenges that arise when eating at someone else's home/an event or holiday. And Magen will be sharing with you her tried and tested "No Hangover from Fun Food and Drink" protocol and tools to make sure that if you do go off the program unexpectedly or otherwise, you suffer fewer repercussions and get back on your healthy eating program more readily.
How is the Optimal Mind Body Program different from other healthy lifestyle programs?
We've never seen another lifestyle program as comprehensive as the Optimal Mind Body Program. First and foremost, it is the only program that gives you direct access to Magen's unique expertise*. It provides the recommendations, structure, support, and accountability you need to establish new, sustainable, healthy habits while kicking your unhealthy habits, such as sugar addiction. What kind of commitment time and otherwise is required to succeed in the Optimal Mind Body Program?
One of the biggest challenges Magen's clients face is that they do not have enough time in their full lives to consistently commit/execute the most basic healthy living habits. This is in part due to poor sleep quality, lack of mental and physical energy and stamina. The Optimal Mind Body Program helps you optimize your efficiency and create more time and energy for your healthy habits and your other non-negotiables (things and people you love).
The amount of time required for each participant varies depending upon where you're starting health-wise, your unique history, goals, whether you are making your own food or having it delivered, and much more.
Preparing for your program is what takes the most time and you are given the time, a step by step guide, kickoff webinar, and the other support and tools needed to have the best possible chance of success in your program.
It takes approximately 5-10 minutes each morning to hydrate well and take your nutritional supplements.

That said, we understand that participants lead full lives with multiple commitments. Magen expertly folds the various protocols gradually and at a pace that has worked for thousands of individuals regardless of their starting, health, and otherwise. For those in the group programs, you will work with Magen in the weekly webinars to trouble-shoot and tweak where necessary the food, exercise, and other protocols to work for your unique schedule, challenges, likes, etc. dislikes.

Therefore, for optimal success, Magen asks that all participants attend the weekly, live Optimal Mind Body webinars or listen to the webinar recordings. You have the option to meet with Magen once a week or as often as daily if needed.
When necessary, Magen will help you identify and hire the best doctors, fitness experts, personal chefs, and more for your health concerns, goals, lifestyle, etc.
What about the Exercise Protocols. Will I be expected to exercise daily? And if so, how much?
As far as the time needed for the exercise protocols, this varies from week to week and depends upon your schedule, level of fitness, likes and dislikes, and much more. It is safe to budget at least one minute and, on average, 30 minutes per day for walking, stretching, etc.
