What exactly is 'optimal health' and why should you care about it? Let's start with a working definition of health:
Health is the mental and physical energy, vitality, and resilience to live joyfully in your own body and face the challenges of your life. Conscious, healthy living is a lifestyle, an attitude. A way of being.
Optimal, where it concerns Health to means having an above average EQ - emotional intelligence. Honing our ability to accept those things we cannot change, the courage to change the things that we can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Having a mind more like water - strong, yet yielding. Living a mindful life with care and concern for how we impact others and our environment. Optimal Health is a lived experience not a thing you can get. To achieve optimal health requires us to do the best we can to consistently practice conscious, healthy living. Our best will change from day to day and from one part of the day to the next. Every day we make unconscious and conscious decisions that either contribute to or take away from the health, happiness and overall quality of not only our life, but the lives of others: family, friends, colleagues and the environment/the planet as a whole. When we live consciously, we make choices that improve our wellbeing or that do the least amount of harm to ourselves and others.
