About Yin Yoga With Magen
Voted "Best Fitness Class in NYC" by Manhattan Magazine*
"Magen Banwart has created the anti-Bikram. ...there are no heat-soaked rooms, absolute silences, or torturous poses. By sitting in poses for one to three minutes, you can rehabilitate achy joints and ligaments through deep stretching. But does it work?
One look at Banwart's packed classes reveals men and women of varying athletic builds who brag about improved flexibility and their rejuvenated fitness routines.
In other words? Yes, it works."
-Manhattan Magazine
Stress can take a toll on the body and mind and reduce our quality of life.
Especially these days.
Even those who exercise regularly sit too much or do not stretch enough.
Over time, we develop joint and muscular stiffness at a minimum
but also chronic inflammation, postural issues, chronic pain,
a less-than-optimal immune system, and disease.
The key to
cultivating optimal mental, physical, and emotional resilience
and to aging with power
is to have a strong, flexible, and calm mind, body, and spirit.
The stretches, breathing, mindfulness,
and other stress management exercises in Yin Yoga with Magen
provide the much-needed balance in our lives.
Yin Yoga is a style of yoga in which simple floor poses
are held for 1-5 minutes on each side.
Yin focuses on energizing connective tissues
rather than building strength,
Connective tissue consists of fascia, ligaments, and tendons surrounding and forming your joints.
Yin Yoga benefits include increased flexibility, range of motion, joint stability, and a calmer, more focused mind.
You will leave class feeling relaxed yet energized, with a healthy glow inside and out.
As one of Magen's students said, "It's like exfoliation for your whole being."
Some more of the many benefits Magen's students have reported:
Reduced back and other joint pain.
Reduced physical and mental fatigue.
Reduced anxiety and depression.

Love for Yin Yoga with Magen
Below is an excerpt from a "Rate Your Burn" review:
"Magen is one of my all-time faves. Fun to be around, eternally positive.
Magen is an excellent teacher and an awesome person.
Her world revolves around finding new ways
to be in balance and sharing that info with her clients.
It's not just her hobby or her job.
That's who she is.
Yin will help you do a lot of things.
Most importantly, it will reverse craziness.
The craziness of an intense workout,
the craziness of a stressful day,
the craziness of living in New York City.
What Yin Yoga with Magen will help you with if you give it a chance:
Decompress
Avoid injury/heal injury through deep stretching.
Calm the fuck down.
Slow your breathing = slow your heartbeat [reduce your blood pressure]
Learn to be still.
So much harder than it sounds."
-GC
"The stretches feel like a massage from the inside out.
I leave class walking taller, physically and mentally.
This practice will complement any workout
and is a must-do for everyone!"
-JD
"Magen is well-trained and very knowledgeable.
She takes the time to explain the benefits as well as demonstrating the pose
-all with a good sense of humor and gratitude for your presence."
